He seems like a good pick to back up the 2 and 3 spot. Think he might help?

Raptors' Murray Wants to Be Traded

TORONTO (AP) -- Raptors forward Lamond Murray wants to be traded because he's frustrated by his diminishing role in Toronto's offense, the Toronto Star reported Friday.

"I'm out. I do not want to be here," Murray told the newspaper. "At this point, I'm just ready to go. Hopefully I can go somewhere I can help some team out. I don't want to sit here and waste another year."

The Raptors acquired Murray from Cleveland on Aug. 25, 2002, and has two years and about $10 million remaining on his contract.

"There's a difference in being on a good team and being a part of it. You know what I'm saying?" Murray said. "I'm not part of anything around here."

Murray, placed on the injured list with back spasms during the Raptors' recent road trip, said he feels fine. He spoke with coach Kevin O'Neill about his status, and said he intended to talk to GM Glen Grunwald on Friday about trading him as soon as possible.

"As soon as his office opens, I'm going to talk to him," Murray said. "I've already relayed a message to my agent. And it's time they made a move."

Murray missed all of last season after tearing a ligament in his foot in the preseason. He was a key part of the team's offense at the beginning of the season, but his minutes have dwindled. He played one minute in the team's loss to Boston on Dec. 3.

Murray has averaged 8.6 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 17 games this season.

when he was a key part of the offense, it was the worst offense in the league. We already have our own offensive woes. Also, I am of the thought that if a player demands to be traded, I don't want to touch that player. Man up and deal with your situation. If by the offseason it didn't get any better, go through some better channels of communication.

Plus, wasn't Murray an ex clipper? Has he ever been on a winning team? I can't deal with any more losers on this team.

I was trying to be polite and not bring that up. I wouldn't have done it then and I regret that we did it now. A player will play anywhere, not just in a town that he wants to. That was ridiculous and the nba should have stepped in. You should be required to play for the team that drafts you.

We should have gone after him instead of Weatherspoon. Murray is much more talented and younger.

Who do you propose we trade for Murray? He has 2 years and 10million left on his contract. He is a pretty good offensive player but how is his defense?
He might be a nice guy to have off the bench as a scorer to go along with Taylor, but his contract is pretty steep!

The Rockets need shooters, not past their prime slashers.

As long as the rules are in place, players should obey them, but honestly I think players should be able to play where they want.

murrays making about as much as mobley but for someone making 5 millionish a year his numbers dont stack up. not worth it. and im pretty sure the weatherspoon deal was all about trading bad contracts. at least we get out of those two bad moochie and mr british contracts, while taking on one that ends sooner. and to boot he's a big man who at least used to be effective on the boards.

there are players it would be nice and even possible for us to get, but murray aint it. :)

I don't quite agree. The team already had a person running the postition that he wanted to play. Don't you think Yao would be a little unhappy if he came to Houston and somebody like i dunno Vlade was already in the post and they wanted him to play PF. Im pretty sure he would be let out too. But then again Yao is too modest, and maybe if it was some other stud they would do the same.

Nah, we already have JJ, Boki, E-Pie and A Griff as SG/SF types. No point in adding to the crowd.

your logic is flawed. The grizzlies recognized then what we know now. Steve was not a typical point and would have fit in with Bibby. It was steve's ego that got in the way. And yes, if Yao demanded to be traded because he didn't want to play behind Kelvin Cato, I wouldn't want him either.

I think a better example would be, if the Lakers had drafted Yao when they already had Shaq. Yao may not have his individualisticly ideal situation, but it would be a great position for the team.

Now the question would be, Is it Ok to put your individual goals infront of team goals? My answer is always no.

Right...that's why they drafted him, because he wouldn't fit in with their team.....that's generally what NBA GM's do....

How many would love to have Bibby and Steve in that same form right now! That's what all the noise has been about. Maybe Stu had a clue!
