Should we be shopping for a SF?

I know we've been talking about PFs, should we shop for a 3? It would be nice to put T-Mac back at the 2. Wesley is getting old and we can maybe trade him away for some draft picks.

JVG said he wanted TMac to play the 3 as that was a more natural position for him. The acquisition of Wesley allowed him to do that.

The Rockets only really started playing well last year after TMac went to the 3, and Wesley took over at the 2.

We have ZERO reason to want to put TMac back at the 2.

Waste of time. We have Ryan Bowen at PF right now, which is a huge hole.

But Wesley is 34 and too short to play the 2. I think T-Mac is a natural 2 and it would be good if we could shop for a ME SF like Bobby Simmons or Bonzi Wells.

We're already slow. Moving T-Mac back to the 2 would just make us slower.

That's why we traded Jim Jackson.

Don't understand why so many want to put T-Mac back at the 2.

He was better at the 3, and the team was much better with him there.

I'd only want T-mac back at the SG fulltime if we land an impact SF. A guy like Peja, Rashard, or Marion (yeah, I know. fat chance on these guys) would be too good to pass up. I would also move T-Mac to the SG part time if we get a guy that can play both the swingman positions, (i.e. Simmons, Artest, Posey, Maggette). Otherwise T-mac should stay where he is.

Because we had JJ, TMac was playing 2-guard in November and December. We traded JJ which allowed TMac to play 3 and committed Wesley at 2. Since that time (somewhere in January), the Rox had something like the 5th best record in the league...tied w/ the Mavs.

It's hard to argue with results.

I think getting a cheap backup 3 would be perfect - so Tmac can rest

...an Eric Williams type would be nice

there's no reason to move tmac back to the 2. yes, the idea of a tall SG is appealing but the reason why tmac was moved to the 3 anyways was because he's much quicker than most of the 3s in the league.

I second Eric Williams. Dermarr Johnson would be good too.
