Rumsfeld: NATO dispute won't stop Turkey defense plans

Meanwhile, Iraq announced it had unconditionally accepted a U.N. request that it allow American U-2 spy planes to be used for aerial surveillance, Iraq's U.N. ambassador, Mohamed Aldouri, said Monday. Asked for reaction to the development, White House spokeswoman Clare Buchan said, "What the president still wants is disarmament."

It's clear (to me at least!) that Iraq would not be doing ANYTHING for the U.N. if the U.S. wasn't pushing as hard as it is. This is why Bush keeps pushing for war. Unless we do, Saddam won't agree to anything.

All you people who keep praying for peace should really be critical of Saddam. He's the one that won't do anything until a gun is placed against his head (which, according to stories, he does to his own people when they don't cooperate). He wouldn't let inspectors in until Bush pushed, he wouldn't let U.N. flyovers until Bush pushed and he won't disarm until Bush pushes even harder.

Everyone against the war seems to forget that Saddam is the one not agreeing to the sanctions. Bush has done everything the world community has asked: he got approval from Congress, he went before the U.N., he asked for and got a U.N. resolution and has let inspectors do thier jobs.

People complain that he is "rushing" into this war but he's been talking about it for over a year (if you go back to his last State of the Union) and we still have not done anything.

Keep forcing the issue Mr. Bush as it is clear that nothing would/will get done without your prodding.
