    anyone know why RAM prices have almost doubled lately? Is it expected to go back down?

    Most of it was due to consolidation in the industry. Companies are buying other companies out causing there to be less and less competition... I remember the good ol' days (about 4 or 5 months ago) when you could get 256 MB DDR PC2100 RAM for about $30. And that wasn't the cheesy generic stuff either.
