question about playing AVI. files on Mac

    I just got my first macbook, a lot of thing are new, question: i downloaded the divx player, and some avi. files, but when i try to play them i only see pictures but no sound, what codec i need to download to play the audio? :(

    Have you tried using Flip4Mac yet? That does a good job of allowing you to view all kinds of formats in Quicktime. You can also get a copy of VLC Media Player. It will play virtually anything.

    VLC player is all you need. Does the job perfectly.
