I am in the market for a television and I was wondering about the projectors and how they stack up against the latest technology, I would like to hear from some that have exp with projectors vs the latest technology LCD, DLP, Plasma. I would also like links to sites that are running specials looking for something in the 700 to 900 range above 32 inches.

I never used a projector but don't you need to keep the room dark in order to get a good picture?

I'm not sure but that would not be a problem I like the dark and it will not be my only TV.

I have two DLP projectors, and they are brilliant, they both broadcast HDTV very well and I love them.

That being said, the downside to having a projector (in most cases) is you need to be able to control the light.

Dr. of Dunk knows a lot more about it than I, but I would buy a projector if I could darken the room considerably...if there was a lot of natural light, I would go LCD then Plasma...in that order.

Old thread, that I missed, I bought both projectors for about $2500 each...they have come down in price since then.....but mine are native 1024x768 and will handle up to 1920 x 1280 (I think).....

I use one for an outdoor theater, put it up and take it down when we need it and the other one travels with me for presentations.
