As I said in another thread, a heartbreaking loss like this one tonight usually sends the Rockets on long losing streaks, rather than winning streaks. If the Rockets had won tonight, I would have had absolute confidence that the Rockets will win on Saturday. Now I have none.

    Dallas: 112
    Houston: 97

The Rockets simply won't have it in them. Their defense will embarass, and they will lead only once, in the first quarter. Dallas has too many shooters. They are the anti-Rockets, the team Houston matches up with the worst. The Rockets will simply be too depressed and tired after the Laker loss.

    Francis: 25 points, 10 assists, 5 boards
    Mobley: 20 points, 2 assists, 2 boards

    Nitwitski: 37 points, 13 boards, 6 assists
    Finley: 30 points, 8 boards, 5 assists
    Howard: 18 points, 10 boards
    Nash: 15 points, 5-5 from 3pt line

I smell a 6 game losing streak. It won't be much fun cheering on a 5-7 team at Key Arena next Friday.

If the Rockets play with as much heart against the defending back-to-back World Champs, then I think they may have a shot at beating the Mavs. The Mavs, however, will be seeking a big game after there embarassing loss to the lowly Pistons.
