I know threads like these pop up every so often (no pun intended), but I don't think I can wait for someone else to start one. Lately there has been an unusual amount of pop-ups on my computer, and I don't have any good software to stop them. I run ad-aware on my computer every couple of days, and I have run it about 4 times today alone, in response to the disproportionate number of pop-ups I have been getting. After the first scan, which found 90 new objects, I have found nothing, but the pop-ups continue.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

Hint: Delete all cookies after each online experience. (except the cf.net one of course.)

Other Hint: Set your browser to block unwanted cookies.

Other other hint: Stop browsing "questionable" sites. :p

no problem. Just lay off the free p*rn sites. They are smothered with pop ups etc. ;)

I use Pop-up Stopper from Panicware. You can probably find a free copy on the web. I use an older version (2.6) and it works great.

The google toolbar is fantastic. It's very effective at blocking unwanted ads and it is such a handy searching tool, right on my browser. So do I work for google? Well unofficially. ;)

Another hint...be sure to update Ad-aware often. It has an update option icon on the top of it's main page.

Ad-Aware's ok, but I found Spy Sweeper found a ton of stuff after Ad Aware's sweeps, and SS also zapped ClientMan.
