Player trade demands

    With this summer player movement and many players (TMac, Carter, Peja) demanding trades I was wondering how much power a player has to demand to be moved esp in the middle of a contract? Is there any way to break a contract and then sign with another team or are they locked in until that 2nd to last year of their contract?

    They can't "legally" break a contract until the have an option or until its over
