Yes, it's early in the season, but beating the Clippers and Warriors on a road back-to-back is definitely impressive. They sit atop the Eastern Conference beating the Wolves pretty easily and have some guys playing well in Tobias, Bradley, Reggie and Drummond. The roster doesn't impress me so I don't see them being one of the best in the East, but what you guys think? Is anyone following them, how did they beat these 2 good teams in particular is what I'm wondering.

at the 6min mark last nite just like clockwork, GS started getting every BS call imaginable. problem was DET still couldn't miss and made all the big plays down the stretch. methinks they've just been really hot, a la portions the other night.

They'll start losing. Tobias & Reggie aren't winners. Langston Galloway's shoe selection has been WILD though. That's the REAL story in Detroit.

Tobias and Bradley are a real solid two-some around Drummond/Reggie.

Not sure what "they're back" means here, but an east playoff team? Sure.

I'm a big fan of Stanley Johnson, and I REALLY want him to figure himself out.

Sources: Pistons want Stan Van Gundy back next season, preferably with front office changes

Detroit Pistons owner Tom Gores wants Stan Van Gundy to return as coach for the final year of his contract, but would prefer for that scenario to include structural changes to the franchise's front office, league sources told ESPN.

As president of basketball operations and coach, Van Gundy has had full authority on player personnel and staffing -- but Gores has suggested changes that, so far, Van Gundy is resisting, league sources said.

Van Gundy and Gores have been talking about a way to move forward together for two weeks, and some of that discussion has centered on the future role of general manager Jeff Bower, league sources said.

Bower -- who Van Gundy hired and trusts implicitly to run the day-to-day operations of his front office -- is set to meet separately with Gores this week, league sources said.

Bower is in the final year of his contract.

Van Gundy has one year and $7 million left on his original five-year deal, but most of his front office and coaching staff are in the final year of their contracts.
