So I have a photo of a nice car. I want to upload it online but unfortunately, the car's license plate is on there. Seeing it is a pretty rare car, would I get into any significant trouble if I was to upload it? I was going to upload it to tumblr and maybe even facebook. I just don't want to get into any legal troubles...

If only there was a way to alter photos using some kind of nifty computer software.

Wow, microsoft paint, why didn't I think of that?

I asked if it was illegal or not. Answer my question.

I'm no lawyer, but I don't see what possible ramifications could come from it as long as you aren't using it for personal gain. Is someone going to sue you for snapping a picture and putting it online for others to admire? Just edit out the license plates if you're that worried.

Hay guyz, I took a pic of some guy with his beagle and you can clearly see the dog's name on the collar is Scruffy. Is it illegal if I put the picture of the cute puppy online?

Of course you can. The car is in a public place or a place where the public can see it, it's a-ok to photograph and publish.

Don't believe me....ask google street view. lol

Why don't you just take about 20 seconds to wipe it out, and you don't need to ask the question.
