    Not unheard of for pitchers to pitch until that age... not that long ago that Jamie Moyer was pitching into his late 40's.

    Easier for a slopballing lefty to do it, but Verlander strikes me as the type of guy who is crafty enough, with good enough breaking balls, to survive a slight loss of velocity.

    i dont think he get to decide that... his best days are behind him, seriously doubt he'll get another 2 year 66 mil contract

    I just think it is a desire to be like Nolan Ryan who proved it was possible, presumably without going the Clemens route.

    Ryan led the league in WHIP, K/9 and threw a no hitter the year he turned 45. I don't know what is more remarkable than that.
