I hope you are not joking. Spam is good stuff. So are all potted meat products. Not sure I want a whole chicken in a can, but I'd try it.
I've seen those before on the shelf, just grossed out by the idea, seeing the actual product, that is some nasty ass chickens
I have nothing against Spam even though I haven't eaten it in forever. Hell, I think it's on the McDonald's menu in Hawaii (for some reason they eat Spam like crazy). But.... potted meat... is nasty. What I'm talking about are those Armour potted meat cans you can buy for a quarter or something at Walmart and other grocery stores. I joked about it at work one day, but we couldn't figure out what exactly "potted meat" was. Then we looked at the ingredients and it was kind of scary. I bought a can just to try it. It tasted like somebody threw animal bones, hot dogs, oil, water, and salt into a blender and hit "puree". I can't say I'd really want to try it again. I found this guy's page a few years ago when looking for more info on potted meat : http://www.shipbrook.com/jeff/potted.html
Yup... what Lil Pun posted was what I tried. I think it was the Libby brand, too... *shudder*. I don't think I made it through the whole can and those things are tiny.
I've always liked these, although I have it 1-2 times a year. It isn't that bad for you, and it's delicious.
I'm not a fan of canned meats but I have a recipe where I coat potato wedges with bully beef that's cooked in the fryer.
Yeah, Underwood deviled ham is different from potted meat... potted meat is just alien. I think the ingredients in those Underwood cans qualify as meat. Potted meat, on the other hand, looks like at the end of the day they took whatever flew off the conveyor belts, threw it together in a blender and tried to sell it. Try it. Read the link I posted and look at the contents and compare it to Underwood... lol.
I haven't had Deviled Ham in years. Man, I used to love Deviled Ham sandwiches...I need to pick some up.
