No counter for the KD blitz

This is how defenses are going to play us in the playoffs. 4 on 5 with amen and we have no one who can put the ball on the floor and create their own shot

 

Our team is so dumb, we can't break a zone or do anything. So many turnovers

1st teams realized they can just ignore Amen Thompson, and the Rockets won’t be able to score

then they realized they can just double and trap KD, and he’ll turnover it over time after time…and the Rockets won’t be able to score

KD can’t consistently make even the most basic of reads

 

The Lakers have crappy defense. And Rockets got shutdown like they're a G-League team facing the dynasty Spurs. That was pretty brutal to watch

The issue is he thinks he can shoot or take on 3 defenders and it always results in a TO or bad pass

 

Great coaching adaptation by Udoka. Who did he yell and scream at tonight when he didn't adjust or provide simple NBA plays for players to execute?

 

I'm assuming having Alpi would help at least a bit because if nothing else he's a way better decision maker than Tari and DFS have been shown to be. Also he can pass the ball.

However, with Alpi and Amen on the floor together, that opens a whole 'nother can of issues.

If our squad STILL can't respond to this defense by the end of the next Lakers game, it would assure a first-round exit in my mind. I guess we shall see

 

Do CJ and Durant have the same offensive coach?

 

KD is the main problem, not the other players.

1 He wastes shot clock time piddling at the top of the key waiting for [whatever] to happen.
2 When the defense sends guys after him, instead of getting rid of the ball right away, he dribbles backward to the half-court line and gets trapped, which makes it near-impossible to pass the ball. That isn't on the other players. It's on KD.

I've watched the NBA for over 40 years and I don't think I've ever seen a player dribble the ball backwards towards the half-court line as much as KD this year. What is his problem?

The other issue is why they keep calling play-after-play to start with him isolating with the ball at the top regardless of how many consecutive times it fails in previous possessions. That is insanity!!! Blame Udoka for that.

There is no way Udoka will be fired after this season, but the Rockets must insist that he clean house and hire seasoned assistant coaches instead of lackeys.

 

Just flash Jabari at the FT line and cut back door on the baseline.

It is simple basketball, but we can't make simple plays, Ime is a ****ING IDIOT as a coach, I mean he is the worst - no clue how to coach a team, or have any attention to detail.

He literally is HURTING this team, we would be better off if Elmo from Sesame street coached this team.

And....AND he stepped backwards on the line too........And AND he at 6'11" tried to bounce pass it over short defenders.

KD is in serious decline, he can shoot, but he can't do anything else.....and it is only getting worse from here.
