For the third time since 9/11 I find myself on the job market. Checking job boards, classifieds, and networking like mad. in the past i've reached out to old clients or friends, but now most of those contacts are exhausted, so i find myself speaking with friends of friends, or clients of friends of friends. sometimes the connection is fairly remote. my question: what is the proper thank you when someone you hardly know gives you a good lead? is a simple email thank you enough? do you send a card, a bottle of wine? i want to show my appreciation without getting too obsequious...purple, or clairvoyant...

seriously you can never go wrong with a thank you card and throw in some gift certificates for a fancy place to eat if their lead leads to you finding work

The Trader prefers to receive Omaha Steaks as compensation for job leads.

    good luck with your hunt

jobs are an endangered species, elusive especially for people that have a 5 as the first digit of their age..

An email is no good. A simple Thank You card should do the job.
