I would say Portland should be Hou opener on TNT..But with what has happened this offseason, a loss to Portland would be shameful :(

I agree that the defending champs earn the right to open the season with the ring ceremony at home.

I agree with what you re saying. Champs should open at home no matter what.

    Knicks @ Bulls
    OKC @ Spurs
    Rockets @ Mavs

Would be a good triple header I think.

OKC @ SAS and Cleveland should visit Miami to open so James can be the villain again.

What a joke; I understand seeing Lebron in a Cavs uniform for the first time in Cleveland would be awesome and good for ratings, but you are disrespecting the Spurs here.

Since opening night is on TNT so no local broadcast, unlike with ESPN, I would either just have it on local broadcast or on ESPN at the first opportunity. I do not think a champion should necessarily open up on national broadcast. They didn't do it that often in the past.

I would actually love a home opener for the Hornets against the Heat / Bulls with the first game of the Charlotte Hornets and their new arena is special.

Another one is obvious with the Cavaliers at home vs. a great Western team or playoff eastern team, anybody besides the Heat. I wouldn't start with that kind of return game right from the batt.

The last one should be OKC vs. Clippers or Clippers vs. Warriors or Rockets @ Blazers or Rockets vs. Mavericks.

    When is opening night?

    October 28th or November 4th.

That's a Tuesday. The last few years, I believe it has opened on a Tuesday night on TNT.

Some team at San Antonio at 7

Some team at the Clippers at 9:30.

    Wednesday night
    Renew an old rivalry.
Washington at Cleveland at 6:00 or 7:00
Then another game at 8:30 or 9:30
Portland or Phoenix or San Francisco can host.

OKC/Spurs and Rockets/Mavs is good but Cavs @ Heat would be far more entertaining for an eastern conference matchup.

Spurs were better on the road than they were at home last season. Plus, they don't really care about the regular season early on.

That's bull**** if they make The Spurs play in Cleveland because of princess LeBron. They deserve to play at home.

Can't believe I didnt think about that.

That'd be a hell of a triple header.

I dunno about y'all, but I don't want to play the Mavs until we are running smoothly. A loss would lead to a bigger clutchfans meltdown than after the the Steve Blake game winner.
