After spending just about my whole life in Magnolia, Texas, I'm moving to Jamestown on Sunday. Anyone know anything about it/ ever been there? The good thing is...I didn't have a shot at varsity football down here(I was starting JV, but there were like 80 varsity lineman), and up there, they won state in 2001, 95, and 96. I'm hoping that "Texas Toughness" helps me out.:)

I was born and raised in Houston and recently moved to the Northeast. Prepare for a whole new experience. I'll always be a Texas Boy, but I'll probably live in New England a long time.

Is Jamestown in upstate New York? Near Albany or NYC?

It's southwest. It sits almost smack dab between Buffalo, Erie,Pa, and Pittsburgh. It's closer to Erie though(only like 20-30 miles).

Wow, that's pretty far out there......in the middle of nowhere....

So why is you/your family moving there?

I remember when I moved from Houston to Alabama. At first I was excited.

Within months, it SUCKED. The whole culture shock was scary.

Now I'm somewhat used to it (and some even tell me I've developed a REAL Southern accent [IMG]).

Oh well. Good luck with the move.

Geez, that IS way out there!

The winters there are harsh, but May-October make you glad you're not in the Texas heat. I don't know much more about that area, though. Sorry.

    Good luck with the move!
