They should be teaching him to bit*#slap the little point guards around in the paint.

    Postgame Notes:
    Pacers vs. Rockets

    Oct. 30, 2002, Conseco Fieldhouse
Dating back to the end of the 2001-02 regular season, Indiana has won six straight games.
Tonight's win is the Pacers' third in a row against the Rockets, the longest streak for Indiana vs. Houston since the team swept the four-game season series in 1978-79.
Overall, Indiana has won seven of the last 10 meetings with the Rockets.
Steve Francis scored a career-high 39 points tonight, the most by any player in the NBA to date. Francis' 12 FTM and 14 FTA are both the most by any player in the NBA this season to date.
Kelvin Cato's 17 rebounds are also a career-high. Cato's seven offensive rebounds and 17 total rebounds are the most by any player in the NBA this season to date.
The Pacers' leader in double-doubles over the last two seasons, Jermaine O'Neal, posted his first double-double of the season with team-highs of 24 points and 10 rebounds.
Ron Artest's 20 points is his second of 20+ points in 29 appearances with the Pacers. He scored 24 points vs. Miami, 3/31/02. Artest also added four steals, tying the most by any player in the NBA this season to date.
The Pacers are now 18-9 in their 27 NBA season openers. Indiana has won six straight home openers, including all four at Conseco Fieldhouse.
In his first regular season appearance with Indiana, Erick Strickland scored 19 points and collected seven rebounds.
Including preseason, the Pacers have held five of their last nine opponents under 40 percent from the floor and to 86 points or less.
Brad Miller left the game in the third quarter after getting cut on the chin. He received 14 stitches and did not return. However, he is listed as probable for Friday's game in New Jersey.
In 38 minutes off the bench, Ron Mercer scored 12 points with four rebounds, four assists, two steals, a blocked shot and no turnovers. His four assists are his most in a regular season game with the Pacers.
