1)A person has the right to self defense? 2 Does a person have a right to defend his immediate family? 3 Does a person have the right to defend a friend? 4 Does a person have the right to defend a stranger? 5 Does a person have a right to defend property? 6 Does a person have the right to defend his/her property with deadly force? 7 If a person hits you over the head with a beer bottle, do you have the right to stab him with the jagged end before you pass out? 8 If a person has a whip and attacks you with it, but you have a concealed handgun, can you shot them? I've always been a believer in Bugs Bunny justice. If some harms you by X, you have the right to defend yourself to X+1.
1. yes, you have the right to self-defense 2. yes, you can defend immediate family and/or complete strangers 3. yes, a person can use deadly force to defend property in the state of texas 4. the question of the amount of force comes down to what's reasonable in the context of the situation (time/place/what you're being attacked by or with/who's attacking you). generally, if you fear for your life you have the right to use lethal force to defend yourself.
Sadly, yes they will. Luckily for me I have catlike reflexes and caught mine before they fell in the toilet.
no..it depends on how "grey" the situation is....there is a ton of precedent on self-defense...the question is how closely the particular situation falls within the confines of those facts.
