With all the threads on music, on decided to see how many here have tried it out. If you don't know, it is a free internet music station set up by yahoo that allows you to define what types of music you like by rating the songs/artists/albums. It gets better the more you rate the music and I have found it to be a life saver at work. After years of burning out all of my cd's, and getting to old to stay "in tune" with new bands in my "taste", Launchcast has been wonderful. Bands like Sigo Ros sp? Nuetral Milk Hotel and older music that i haven't heard in forever constantly keep me in a good mood at work. If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend it.
Thanks for the tip. I played around with it for a little while and it seems really cool. Its nice that you can listen to a radio like mix without having to hear crap like Nickleback. My only complaint is that you have to pay to get higher audio quality. The qualiy of the free stream isnt very good but works if you are just looking for background music.
I paid for the service for around six months and then discontinued the premium service, but they never turned off the premium sound.
I used to do Launch Cast, but I reallly liked Spinner even more. Then Spinner changed to something else, and I haven't listened to any internet radio since. I should. It's a good place to hear new, different music. Lots of good indy stuff available.
