I have a laptop that is a few years old and i'm having a screen problem. Sometimes the screen works fine but at other times it flickers on and off like a light bulb trying to go out or something. I hadn't had a problem with it for a while and now it is doing it again to the point that the screen turns black but flickers every once in a while like it's trying to come back on. Just curious if anyone has any clue what it could be?

Well, I am betting your wires connecting to your Screen have gone bad, Is it an active matrix?

My laptop does that too. Mine is an active matrix. I think it's just the wires. I've got to get it checked it. It is a pain in the but.

I've had one do something like that. It ended up being that they power management was tryin to shut off the screen, but for some reason it detected activity so it would bring it back on just as soon as it tryed to shut it off... Just an idea...disable the bit in the display properties that tells it to shut off the screen after a certain amount of time...
