Lakers' Team Plane Almost Crashes

    AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — NBA teams usually aren’t in great moods when their planes land in the wee hours of the morning in a different city for the second night of a back-to-back set.

    The Lakers couldn’t feel too bad about it early Wednesday morning when they had a tumultuous landing at the Pontiac, Mich., airport amid rain and wind.
    “We took a couple of bounces coming in,” Phil Jackson said — before calling it “the worst airport in the country” because of its one-way runway.

    The Lakers’ team plane landed hard and bounced back in the air and seemed to be about to veer sideways and spin before pilots controlled the plane.
