Is anyone else concerned about Tmac's Mins/Game and Injuries?

Tmac has never been the picture of health and came to us with whispers of issues w his back. This year it's been one thing after another. I can't help but think that this has something to do with the heavy minutes he is forced to log.

I believe Van Gundy is coaching to save his job and thus must drive us to the playoffs, even if it's just a first round beating. But we need to look at the big picture. Tmac has a long future as a rocket and we do need to develop the ability to play without him on the court.

Where does he rank on Mins / game anyway?

He is second in minutes/game to Kobe at 41.8

The top 6 in minutes/game are
    1. Kobe
    2. TMac
    3. Iverson
    4. Jefferson
    5. LeBron
    6. Allen

That's pretty much your who's who of elite swingmen in the NBA.

He averaged over 38 minutes a game all 4 years in Orlando, and 39+ in 3/4, including 40.1 in 01/02.

I think JVG would've liked to rest him more last night, but couldn't afford to with Yao being so ineffective.
