Oscar Torres averages 15.4 points and has not missed a free throw (19-19) in the 5 games that he has started.

While his numbers are up in games that he has started, Torres shoots at a 41% clip from the field when he starts, but in 17 games off the bench he's hitting over 51% from the field.

The Rockets are a horrendous road team. Aside from being 2-11 on the road, their top players scoring numbers are way down away from Houston. Francis at home is averaging 24.9 points a night and Cuttino Mobley just under 21.7. On the road? Francis averages 16.5 and Mobley 13.8.

Defense on the road is horrendous also: Rocket opponents shoot 40.6% against the Rockets in Houston. They shoot 50.1% against the Rockets away from the Compaq Center.

Not a single Rocket is good for a block a night. Eddie Griffin is tops on the team and he's getting less than 15 minutes a contest. What an outrageous slap to the face of Kelvin Cato.... blocks was the only thing he used to do right (he has slipped tremendously in this area -- in two years in Portland he averaged over twice as many blocks in half the minutes)

The average Rocket opponent hits 47% from the field to Houston's 41%. Last year Houston outshot opponents 45.3% to their 44.9%. The bench is the bigger culprit, hitting just 38.9% for the season (paging Eddie Griffin, come in Eddie Griffin).

The Rockets already have more losses against the Eastern Conference this season than they did all of last season. They were 25-5 last year and are just 2-6 this season.

Glen Rice sucks.

Damn those numbers are way too ugly. You should probably start the Lottery Ball Race a couple months earlier this year.

I know it looks bad Clutch. But that's what happens when it IS bad, lol.

This year has already been lost. The race was already thin, and no other 8th seed will slip (bad luck) like we did.

Here's to hoping that we come out of this with a much improved Griffin, Torres, and Cato.

Wow, nice job finding those stats Clutch. The one I was most shocked about was the one against the East. Last year we killed the East, this year we are getting killed by the East.
Here's another stat for you. Last year the Rockets we 16-0 against the Central Division, and this year we're 1-4. Also, our last 3 games have all been losses to Central Division teams.
The Rockets stats this year verses last year's:
PPG ORPG DRPG RPG APG SPG BPG TOPG A/TO
    2001-02 89.4 12.3 29.9 42.2 18 7.2 4.0 13.8 1.31
    2000-01 97.2 11.2 30.8 42.0 19.7 7.2 4.4 13.9 1.42
