Say we get our way and land T-Mac and we have another OK season next year like this year, do you think he would stay with us or run and sign with another team? I know we would have to talk to him before we trade for him but the worst thing i can see is happen is he comes here and is unhappy with the first year and jets after the season is over.
Winning is the best medicine. If they win, he'll stay for sure. I think the Rox would have him sign an extention if they pull off the trade. Remember TMac has a lot at stake too. He doesn't want to move to his 4th team next year. That'd really look bad.
I would assume that the only way we'd do a trade, is to have him sign an extension, as part of the deal.
FYI........no extension will be needed for T-Mac He has a 7 year $93 Million dollar deal. ........But he does have an option-out of his contract next year. ........But McGrady can void his opt-out option to make a deal work with the Rockets work. I think the Rockets will seek the later before they pull a deal for T-Mac instead of risking him walking next season.
