I just bowled a 217....

Join a league they are a blast....I carry about a 155 average.....which is ...well....average.....but with handicaps etc it is fun.

We just finished our summer leage, and we went 35-35....to finish right in the middle of the money.

Still....a great time.....with good friends.

That's awesome. I'm not good at bowling at all, but my parents were, and if not for having a family to support my father would have turned pro.

I think my best ever game is 163.

I've been in a few leagues so far. My last one was in the spring with AMF Bunker Hill off I-10 and Bunker Hill. You decide on the dues at the beginning of the league but we started at $15/week and then ended up at $18/week for the rest of the Spring season. It lasted pretty much until summer, so a decent length season.

Depending on your league, there are pretty competitive leagues and there are leagues where you've got a lot of 130, 140, 150 average bowlers. Just ask around at your alley on which leagues are a little easier to break into with, just don't let them put you in a senior league .

never been bowling. i want to join rockets2k team. real bad, but grandpa wont let me play. tell grandpa to let me play.

 

I think I only broke 200 once. I'm normally 135-145. I really wanna start bowling again. I joined a merchandise league and was able to get my ball at the end.

One day we should get a CF game going!

i joined a summer league at AMF with a friend of mine and it's a lot of fun. no one in the league takes it too seriously and are mostly in it because we get to order a free $250 - $300 ball at the end of the summer. it's only $18 a week, plus we get three free games a day. it's paid for itself with all the bowling i do and i've gotten dramatically better since starting. my high is now a 268 and i average 175. pretty good deal if you ask me.

Leagues are a blast for me, I get to have fun running around having some drinks and still be on one of the more dominant teams in the league. Its a 5 person team...and 4 of us carry over 200 average.(three of us over 210)

 

See that negates any handicap league, teams have no chance against that if everyone has over a 200 average.

Naw, thats EXACTLY why handicap leagues exist

If it was that easy, it would be the same three or four teams at the top of the standings every year. A team with one or two 200 av bowlers and three good 140-190 bowlers has a good chance to beat a team of high rollers in a handicap situation.

Alot of mixed leagues use the 90% of 220 or 210 as their handicap cutoff.
So, that means that if I have a 210 av, and you have a 190 av...I have to give you a headstart of 18 pins before we ever throw a ball.
