I'll try my best to explain this right.

Whenever I open Word 2007 at work and at the casa, it takes 3 seconds for it to load each document. How can this be fixed?

Also, after word is opened and I switch (using the taskbar) from, say, viewing a webpage to a word document, it also takes 2-3 seconds to switch. I get the hourglass symbol for a second or two.

I never had this problem with word 2003. It always worked instantly.

Please save your "you need to be more patient" retorts.

I was just about to mention "modules" or "add-ins" or a customized default template.

Usually, most programs, including the ones from Microsoft, will check their last update and their last status before starting, to let you know if there was a problem shutting it down before or if they need to recover something. In this case, did removing the "add-ins" fix it, or was it something else?

    Try troubleshooting if it is:
    1. when other programs are running (shut down all you can),
    2. only when creating a new document,
    3. when the computer has been on for a while,
    4. when Outlook tries to open it to create a new mail message, or
    5. only when opening a document saved in a previous version of Word?
