Something weird happened the other day when I heard Kyrie was out. I felt, for the first time in my life, a glimmer of compassion for Dallas fans. It was a very odd and uncomfortable feeling, one I’ve never felt before. They went from the finals to the worst team in Texas in mere months. And so I turn to you all to assist me in deciding whether or not I should feel any compassion towards our in-state rival’s fans or not. Feel free to jog up memories if necessary, to make your point.

Van Gundy said a referee not working the playoffs called him and warned that officials "were looking at Yao harder because of Mark's complaints" to the league office. He said that Cuban "has been hard on them," and "he's gotten the benefit."

"I didn't think that really worked in the NBA, but in this case it has," Van Gundy said, declining to name his source.

Van Gundy made the comments to three reporters at the team's hotel in Dallas on Sunday night. At a shootaround Monday _ prior to Game 5 of the series, which was split at two games apiece _ Van Gundy said: "I stand by what I said. I believe it. I know what was told to me, and I've seen how it played out."

Van Gundy said his official friend called him after Houston took a 2-0 lead and said the targeting of Yao was mentioned in an online evaluation from supervisor of officials Ronnie Nunn.

Yao fouled out of Game 1 in 20 minutes. He had four fouls in Game 2, when he made 13 of 14 shots and scored 33 points, then had five fouls in each of the last two games.

I love seeing them blow up their franchise and the fans wallowing and crying about it. **** them.

It's not common, but some people appreciate the "bad" that happens to them. They look at it as an opportunity.
