Help Buying a Camcorder

    So I have this relatively random urge to buy a camcorder... I've just been thinking it would be nice to have at a lot of (formal) parties I've been going to lately (awards ceremonies and such), as well as for some of my girlfriend's sister's soccer games.

    Now, two important things I need to mention:
    First, price is a BIG issue, as I'm in college ($400 or more I don't even think about, $300-$399 I still cringe a little at... $200-something sounds more my speed).
    Second, I don't know jack anything about camcorders. At all. Seriously.

    So yeah... can anyone point me at some really good deals? Just looking for 5 seconds on Amazon, this looks pretty decent... anyone got anything better than that for me? Even cheaper, perhaps? And is it unwise to buy a used camcorder or not?

    get a mini dv

    get one wtih ability to transfer to the computer

    get one with a goood night mode (sony)

    get one that has more than a 3 month warranty

    and dont get the extended warranty thru best buy/ccity

    but do get all your answers about a camcorder from those dweebs first before purchasing.
