    The first basketball shoe I ever owned. What a sad day!

    You couldn't walk on a court in Washington DC in the 70s if you weren't in a pair of Chuck Taylors.

    I'll never forget the time my wife wanted her first pair. She walked into footlocker all cocky like and said to the clerk "I want a pair of Chuck Jones". The clerk looks at me all sad like and I had to put my head in my hand in shame.

    "Sweetheart" I said, "they're called Chuck Taylors."
