My Memorex CRW-1622 is nearing the end of its lifespan and I'll be looking for a new CDRW drive soon.

I have seen a bunch of great deals posted here in the past (by outlaw and others), and I'm wondering if anyone out there knows a good place to pick up a drive cheap.

It doesn't have to be a super-duper ultra-fast cyborg drive. 2x speed is good enough for me. Any help would be much appreciated. [IMG]

If 2x is good enough for you, I'll send you my old one, lol. Seriously! (Provided that you pay for shipping). I think it still works. It was working when I stopped using it. [IMG]

If you want to move up in speed a bit, what price range are you looking at?

Yeah go to http://www.pricewatch.com and they have deals on every, single computer item available. I got my 10 speed CD-RW for only $135.00 and it works great! Go to PriceWatch!!!

Sorry DoD, I won't be buying a used drive. Those things have a limited lifespan, y'know! [IMG]

That's why I said I'd give it to you. Free. What? You want me to pay you to take it from me? Geez. lol.

Man, I think I'll just throw it away, if I can't even give it away. [IMG]

Hey Doc, how much would shipping be? I'll take it if shipping is reasonable.

Seriously, the cost of shipping it up here is probably more than what the drive is worth. [IMG]

    RKMAN,

I may already have a taker. I have no idea what shipping would be, but I can't imagine it being more than $10-$15.

I also took it to my parents' house over the weekend to install on their PC, so I won't be able to ship it till the end of next month anyway (when I head back over there).
