I realize this is the start of Ramadan and some Muslims fast during the day then eat at night... well these guys have fasted all day and now it's time to eat!.... hey... mix in a fork or a spoon there or is this the traditional way to eat after fasting??

If I didnt eat for a long period of time, I would do that too.

Leave them alone, let them grub.

    Mashala. hahaha

I think there are certain kinds of foods that they eat without utensils.

Using your hands and eating out of the same plate is the traditional way to eat in many countries not just used to break a fast.

....ewww, is it also customary to sit like that with your nasty feet getting too damn close to the food?

Don't get me wrong, I respect people's differences, but I am slightly culture shocked I suppose.

I don't think having your feet next to the plate is a custom, but since they are in a Mosque, I suspect their feet are clean (or should be clean).

Notice how they eat using only their right hand.

They never eat with their left hand. Back in the desert where there isn't any toilet paper, the left hand was traditionally used for "cleaning up."

I lived in Saudi Arabia for a few years, thats how they do it. I would go over to my freinds house and their would not be a fork or spoon in sight.

That's like sticking your whole mouth in the rice!

From now on, just take one handful, and end it...
