I was driving back to work from lunch with some friends and noticed a gas station employee changing the prices on the sign out front. The one he was in the process of changing was for Diesel.

    From $2.89 to $4.19.

    I was all  ???

I'm not sure if he had put up the wrong number by accident and maybe caught the mistake once we were down the road. Anyone else noticed such a sharp rise around your neighborhoods? I checked out every station on I-10 on the way back and didn't see anyone over $3 for regular unleaded.

Edit- One of our freight consolidators just called with news of another station over $4 somewhere on the east side of Harris county. Insane.

In Dallas, it was $3.20 - $3.50...I haven't filled up since b/f Rita and I paid around $2.60 - $2.80...My g/f just filled and she was like holy sh*t...

The hurricane didn't hit Houston, but still caused a run up on prices/shortages...
