Did they really say how big each lot is? If they're 1 acre and below, then I would imagine the ROI (that includes building a house on it)wouldn't be worth it to me.

How big a lot do you need to build a house?

My lot is only .25 acre and it is plenty big enough for me.

I thought the poster was interested in return on investment.

I think the smallest lots are 100 X 100 which is about half a baseball field. I wonder what that acreage would normally cost in the heartland. If they have some large lots and the value is high it could be interesting for a summer home or someone who can telecommute/consult 100% of time. Big business could save a lot of money by sending people out there.

I imagine resell would be difficult unless you could get land in growth areas like AZ that still seem remote to most of us, but if the value is high, who knows.

After looking on e-bay, doesn't seem like the land is worth that much, and Texas has a lot of land for sale on ebay. As does New Mexico. Washington DC has absolutely nothing. Fascinating stuff. I now wonder what the catches are on e-bay. Sometimes seems to good to be true so you have to wonder why you get lots of land at almost no cost. Interesting stuff no less.
