    Rockets might not sign Deke until the deadline for players to be eligible for the playoffs.

    Maybe Ron needs to go talk some sense into Mutumbo and tell him this is really the year. At this time next year, Mutumbo can kick back, enjoy his new NBA ring, retire, and call it a career. Though then again, I wont be too mad if Mutumbo doesnt resign. We got all these undersized PFs(that I think are capable), and if Joey Dorsey is "Ray Lewis with a basketball" we wont have to worry about him being undersized!

    Rockets are trying to manage their team salary. They're not offering Deke a contract at this moment.

    Not in a big hurry to sign Deke, he's a veteran and knows how to keep his body in shape while away from team. Meanwhile Morey will work his magic again in finding how to make something out of nothing and free up roster spots but it may come after the season starts.

    i think the only reason Mutombo isn't signed was the hold up with Landry.

    What the Rox needs now is the roughness, which both T-Mac and Yao don't have. Ron is one having that, Deke is another.

    Deke should be signed but I do believe it will be till next year. He does his best work after the all star break anyways.
