    Nothing big.

They replayed some of CD/Rudy's comments, "long process, good visit, etc. etc." Nothing new to report from Goldberg.

They went to some of the Rocks scouts, and had 2 of them in the video, they showed some clips of Olympic play, like one with VERY nice footwork, of course the halfcourt steal and breakaway dunk, his offensive rebounding skills, playing a pick and roll, etc.

Scouts talked about what they looked for-could he finish, the footwork, did he play the PnR correctly, would the skills carry over against better competition, etc.

They mentioned tomorrow, on Sports Extra Sunday, they'll discuss the #15 pick some.

wow, that was a really good sports segment on Yao......let me comment on some of the main point discussed from the perspective of the Rockets scouts who have some good clips from the 2000 Olympics that were shown:

1- One scout commented on his great footwork and how that enables Yao to finish the play rather with ease.....He is very disciplined and they showed like six different clips of Yao in action!

2- on Sunday night, they are going to go into detail about the #15 pick from a scout's perspective so that should be very interesting to watch since it seems like Fox26 is the best local sports program for Rockets Draft coverage.

3- Rudy & Carroll Dawson 's footage coming out of the airport earlier this week were shown again and they talked about the red tape & negotiations going to take awhile......I think they were reading from a script but dont know the thinking behind it!

4- The footage was really cool because they were in the Rockets scouting room viewing video footage with their high tech equipment and giving great access to the news team to put on a great & entertaining sports segment.......I will try 2 post what I see tomorrow as well!

nikestrand......you have to admit it was entertaining to watch at least, even though we did not discover anything new about the negotiations........

ron-Yeah, I liked the clips, I hadn't seen most of them.

One of the things I noticed, was that in the Olympic video, which was about 2 years old, Yao would just sort of lay it into the basket when he had an opportunity to dunk. In the more recent clips, he would finish with a lot more zest-like a strong 2 handed dunk. Kinda like he developed sort of a mean streak on the court, which is definitely good.

They just didn't have anything new, like more progress in the negotiations with Goldberg, if/when Yao won't be able to play, etc.

I'm still eager to hear an interview with Yao, in English. That'll probably come right before, or right after the draft.

We should watch what they say about the #15 pick so we can rule out what's not going to happen. :D

the most exciting part of the draft, from our POV, will not be related to the #1 overall pick. rather it will be what happens with the #15 (or should i say #10?)

I remember reading that he had to almost be "forced" to dunk the ball because in the beginning he thought dunking the ball was not nice or being disrespectful. I hope he ends up disrespecting several people as he takes feeds from the guards and dunks away!

    ron413, keep the stuff coming!
