For the love o' Christ, can I figure out if my laptop is dead

    OK, I tried to place it in the "Other Laptop problem" thread, to no avail.

    My brand new hard drive now gets the blue screen of death saying "UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME"

    I am realizing that my "new" hard drive was corrupted.

    Is this fixable, or should I get a new hard drive?

    Sorry for starting a new thread on this, but Blake kept bothering my input. :(

    when you get *really* fed up with not finding a solution online, come see me.

    From the sounds of it, it isnt gonna be something I or anyone else can walk you thru online.

    The only way I can determine at this point if it is your drive or your computer is to get it in front of me.

    Tell you what, I will order you a night with me if you can tell me what the hell is wrong with this damn thing. I hate to buy a new one because this one is only a few months old and, damnit, it is still faster than my piece of crap desktop.

    That said, my desktop never falters.

    Let me know if this one is worth crap. I'll pay you drinks plus, obviously.

    you aught to know by now, financial recompense is not one of my over-riding concerns.

    Im tough to get away from the office/house these days (ask heypee) so dont kill yourself tryin to plan around my f*cked up schedule. ;)

    If you insist, Ive had a hankering for some good tequila lately.




    addendum.....since I do spend so much time in office, catching me here isnt difficult, just holler and let me know when your coming so I can make sure the wife puts on some clothes. god I love working from home:cool:

    adnendum, myself... I could care less. I need a working computer for my job. I'll take you out for an entire evening, or owe you whatever the hell I might bring to the table, later on.

    I hate to sound tragically unhip, but I keep hearing of this stuff called Petran(sp?) that is supposed to taste head and shoulders better than my old standby Jose.

    What say you? hype or no?

    Patron is good as far as hangovers go, but not in taste, and not worth the money, IMO.

    I'll take a tequila sunrise anyday over Patron.

    But I'm not a young man any longer.

    Fact is, and what we are all, sadly realizing, you get to an age where you don't back easy. Now I know 20-somethings are going "hey, neither do we!"

    Heeed my advice: Cheap liquor? Smirnoff. And as much as I hate vodka, you will wake up with near not as much of a hangover.

    I could give studies on what liquor does what to certain personalities.... :p
