This is not a thread to trade Moochie for the sake of trading him, it's just something to think about & possibly a way to improve our team. Francis, Mobley, Taylor, & Griffin are (imo) untouchable. Collier, Langhi, & T-Mo haven't proven anything yet to cause a lot of interest in them & besides, I like their future potential. KT, Torres, Brown, & Willis, while not untouchable, have either really helped this club or have shown a lot of potential (Torres & Brown). We can't seem to give Cato away & Rice's contract &, thus far, lack of real production, would pretty much make them difficult to move. Walt may or may not be moved later in the season.

This brings me to Moochie & the point of this thread. If Brown is able to prove he can handle the back up PG position, would you consider trading Moochie, if it improved our front court? Moochie can't be traded until Jan 8 & Francis is out for a while, so there would be plenty of time to find out if he can handle it. Would you do this deal or is there a better deal out there?

Atlanta trades: Dion Glover $1,027,440 to Cleveland
Atlanta trades: DerMarr Johnson $2,265,240 to Cleveland
    TOTAL: $3,292,680

Houston trades: Moochie Norris $3,600,000 to Atlanta
    TOTAL: $3,600,000

Cleveland trades: Michael Doleac $2,000,856 to Houston
Cleveland trades: Brian Skinner $1,483,461 to Houston
    TOTAL: $3,484,317

    TRADE ACCEPTED

Atlanta is in need of a PG. We have a rather good one. Earlier reports indicated that they'd rather have Terry play the SG position, where he's much more effective. They are loaded at the SF position & have only been giving Johnson an average of 9.8 minutes per game.

Cleveland needs some more offensive punch. Other than Miller & Murray, they have no real offensive contributors. Glover would give them a pretty a solid SG to play alongside of Miller & Johnson would give them some size at the SF position, with great potential.

Houston would get a solid contributer at center (sit Cato at the end of the bench) & some added size & depth at the PF spot. Skinner could also be traded next year when Taylor comes back.

Any thoughts on this trade idea or is there a better option out there?

I'm not sure Clev would want another tweener like Glover. Wes Person and Jumaine Jones have played fairly well thus far.

As far as Atlanta is concerned (im gonna get yelled at for this no doubt)...is Mooch that much better than Jacque Vaughn that Atlanta would want to pay him all that cash? IMO, no but I'm sure we could argue that all day.

For us, Doleac has a stress fracture (just announced in the past 24 hrs i believe and the only reason I know that is that Chris Mihm is my backup center on my fantasy team and Doleac being out helps me:rolleyes: ) Skinner isn't bad. I've always thought, even back when he was with the Clips, that he was a fairly decent player with a ton of athletic ability. He's a decent rebounder and shot blocker and could fit in nicely on our "donut" team.

Would a Mooch and (choose one...) Tmo/Walt/Langhi for Skinner and Person work?

It would be sweet for the rockets if they could find someway to pry Doleac away from Cleveland. He's a banger and has a pretty descent mid range jumpshot.

While this wouldn't be a bad trade necessarily if Steve was healthy, right now it is not such a good idea. That would leave us with Tierre as our only PG. And that is scary.

My assumption was that Steve would be back before we pulled the trigger. However, with Doleac having a stress fracture as NJRocket has pointed out, that could put a damper on the whole idea, unless he could heal up by then.

    NJRocket,

As for Person, we don't need him. We've got Mobley & Torres appears more than capable as our backup 2. The front court is where we need help.

P.S. The Cleveland injury report has Doleac listed with a left ankle sprain. Is that report inaccurate?

I like Moochie, but man I would have to think long and hard about that trade. I think Doleac is an underrated player and Skinner has been productive in his role. It definitely beefs up our frontcourt.

The report on Doleac that i got was from CBS Sportsline. The fantasy hoops league I am in uses their site and its on the "player updates" today.

    Here's what it says:

    Michael Doleac
Doleac has a stress fracture in his left foot. He missed his fourth straight game Thursday night, and said he would be out even longer. "We discussed surgery but we don't want to do that right now," said Doleac. "We're going to try to avoid surgery." The Cavs will have Doleac examined on Friday by Dr. Richard Parker. On Wednesday, Doleac underwent a series of tests which revealed the fracture in the talus bone near the heel of his foot. "It's frustrating because I can stand on it and walk," he said. "It's when I run, it hits a certain spot."

As far as Person, I was thinking of him as a starting 3 moreso than a backup 2. I think he plays both position for Cleveland and he can really shoot lights out and runs the floor very well.

This would be a good trade. But Doleac does in fact have a stress fracture that he will not operate on, and will therefore take 6 months to heal.

I would love to take a chance on Illgauskas' foot though, if not for the humongous contract ($11.25M). He'd fit very nicely.
