    Thanksgiving is only a week away, less than a week actually...

    We all know that the Turkey is the most important meal, but because of that, and my need to go against the grain, there have been thanksgivings where I refuse to eat the turkey at all. But, never have I skipped out on ma's brocolii/rice caserole thing...never. The one thing mom knows how to make well, and she only cooks it once a year... so thats the reason I cant wait to go home next week.

    What are your favorite Thanksgiving side dishes...

    I dont like candied yams...

    Those sweet potatoes with the marshmallows on top, except without actually eating the sweet potato part... just a big piece of melted marshmallow... :D

    Green bean cassrole with the crunchy onion stuff on top.

    Not sure what all is in it , but it sure is good.

    Gotta eat the dressing...with giblet gravy...and white meat turkey...one day after T-giving...is delicious...enjoy it while the women are shopping

    Oh what to choose, what to choose.

    I love the yam/sweet potatoes that Isabel mentioned above, deviled eggs are great, stuffing is awesome, cranberry sauc is yummy, green bean caserole is delicious....damn Thanksgiving, hurry up and get here.

    I also love the green beans casserole

    I think it is only:

    Green Beans, Cream of Mushroom Soup and fried onions

    Casarole's disgust me. Give me turkey, mashed potatos, regular green beans, some brown gravy (not that nasty giblet stuff) and a nice roll or corn bread and I'm a happy camper.

    Ahhh and a piece of Grand Ma's home made pecan pie for desert.

    My absolute favorite is dressing. After that it's a toss up between green bean casserole and candied yams. Last year I didn't have any candied yams so this year it will be my second favorite.

    voodoo.. are you suggesting I should pick up Jack Daniels before I leave Tennessee for Houston? Or for that matter lobby for the factory to be moved to Texas? :)
