    just sat down to watch some US Open and he is announcing :mad: . He needs to retire or at the very least stick to football highlights

    I've been watching, and I don't he has been that bad. Hasn't even busted out any of his famous maxims so far.......he has been no better or worse than Bob Costas is.

    The NBC coverage is about 10 times better with the same camera positions.

    don't you dare compare Berman to Bob Costas.

    Berman relies on cheap punchlines, Costas relies on excellent storytelling and reflection.

    I will agree with you on the storytelling/reflection when it comes to the Olympics or things of this magnitude....

    But, give me a break. Bob Costas does not bring anything groundbreaking to a golf telecast. And if you have watched any of today's coverage, which it is obvious you have not.......there have been no cheap punchlines from Berman.

    The point I was trying to make is that neither personality really does anything for the telecast except setting up shots ("Let's go to 9 with Tiger," etc)......they leave the analysis to the Andy North's, Arnold Palmers, etc.

    I never compared the two. I said he is no better/worse on a golf telecast. If I said something along the lines of Berman deserved the Emmy, not Costas....then I could see a reason for your anger towards my post and your reasoning to promote your man crush on Costas.
