Realgm has Arroyo, Marquis Daniels, Gordan Giricek, Mike James, Mo Williams and Rasual Butler all UNrestricted.

ESPN has them all the above restricted.

Looking at PB page on contracts, I think realgm is correct. What is the real story on the above guys?

I'm pretty sure that James & Daniels are RFA's, so that would lead me to guess that the others are as well.

    Larry Coon FAQs

The current CBA provides restricted free agency on a limited basis. It is allowed following the fourth year of rookie "scale" contracts for first-round draft picks (see question number 38 ). It is also allowed for all veteran free agents who entered the NBA in 98-99 or later, who have been in the league three or fewer seasons (however, first round draft picks are unrestricted free agents following their third season if their team does not exercise their option to extend their rookie scale contract for the fourth season). All other free agency is limited to unrestricted free agency.

It looks like realgm and Patricia Bender are indeed wrong. All these guys have been in the league less than 3 years and later than 98-99.

Too bad, Arroyo was high on my list and I'd really be interested in Daniels and Giricek as well. I don't see us outbidding Dallas or Utah.

My understanding is Arroyo is REstricted and daniels is 100% UNrestricted, thus Cubes expects to lose him if a team offers over the MLE (according to marky-Mark).

At first I was confused by your statement, but then I figered it out.

From that language Daniels is Restricted, it is just Cubes is limited to how far he can match.

Because he doesn't have Early Bird Rights (end of 2 year deal) or Bird Rights (after 3 years) I think Cubes has to dip into his own MLE to match. There is no way he can match if the offer is greater than the MLE. That is what happened to Golden State and Arenas and why SA worked so hard to keep cap space this year with Manu a RFA but not having Bird Rights.
