This may sound weird, but that smell from turning on the heater for the first time during the fall/winter months is great...It's kind of like the smell of something burning, but not really...

That smell gives my wife a headache so I couldn't turn on the heater last night. I will turn it on for a bit when I get home from work to burn that smell off for tonight.

That smell makes my fire alarms go off for a few minutes when I fire them up for the first time every season. :(

Believe me, having a 3 mo old baby trying to sleep and having a fire alarm go off, is not a good combo. Not at all.

The coolest thing about building a new home is that the new building codes called for a highly efficient home. It was 40 degrees outside this morning and a perfect 73 degrees in my home...maybe I should try out the heater just to make sure it's working...

It was a balmy 9 with around 4 inches of snow here this morning. It'll be good for the in-laws who are driving up from Texas later in the week.

Just to make you feel a little "better", I walked outside half asleep to get the paper in my boxers and nearly gave myself a heart attack!

Me too. Well, old Heights apartment actually, but I had space heaters in every room and 2 in the bedroom. I think it was about 65 degrees in my room last night.

But I'm warm-blooded so that's just how I like it. This is football weather. Bring on the next Arctic front! :D

Don't get me wrong guys... I love the cold, it's the wife that's turns into an icicle. I could survive with just layering up the clothes.
