Desktop Icons are .lnk?

I'm not going to say this will work for sure, but it has for others. You assume the risk by doing the following :

Nothing's wrong, it just shows the full name including the extension for the icon. You can go into your folder options and select "Hide known extensions", which will make your icons stop showing all extensions. If you only don't want the .lnk extension to show, download xp-antispy v.3.96-4 and uncheck the "Always show *.lnk suffixes" option.
