    I went to the same high school as Darius Washington. He started for one of the biggest and best basketball programs in Florida - 6a Edgewater - as a freshman and has continued to improve by leaps and bounds each season.

    He's a steady yet explosive scoring point guard. However, like all point guards, he needs a couple of years in college before he enters the NBA (probably around 2006-2007) to hone his skills against greater competition. A quick comparison right now would be to DaJuan Wagner.

    He's surrounded himself with the right players in his father (a fmr. pro player) and his high school coach with a proven track record of success (Travis Jones) in a short time coaching. Given time, he'll probably make an impact in the NBA...but that's in the not-too-near future.

    As a member of the HS class of 2004, you'll start to hear a lot more about him starting in the fall and the basketball season starts to get going.

    No problem wagner.

    After seeing a promising Marquis Daniels (now at Auburn or Alabama, I forget which) and an oversized Nigel Dixon (transferring from Florida State) pass through, I can say that Darius Washington is probably Orlando Edgewater's best NBA prospect in a long while.

    Though I don't much care for NBAdraft.net, they do a good job at evaluating high school talent. They have a recent article on Washington here: http://www.basketballphenoms.com/peachjamday2.htm. From what I know, he and Telfair are close, with Washington gaining on Telfair's #1 overall in the prep class of 2004 lead.

    The Orlando Sentinel also ran an article on him a couple of weeks ago, but it's no longer accessible from the web.

    man at first i thoughtthis was a thread that darius miles was being rumored to go to washington. i'm trippin my bad. Sorry for being off topic but jordan did like iles a lot he might try to get him when hes a free agent.
