Converting Best Buy Gift Cards to Cash

    My wife got $350 worth of gift cards for a Roomba that Best Buy isn't carrying anymore, not even online.

    Frys has them though.

    I thought of putting them on Ebay and taking a $20 hit or so for cash (if I pull it off and find a buyer and nothing goes wrong,). I'm kind of scared to try to do that.

    Does anyone here have any other ideas how to get $ for gift cards?

    Maybe in clutchfans classifieds?

    You probably already did it... but I'd find a high-up-the-chain in-store manager, tell him/her the dealio and walk out with money... or at least try to.

    Perhaps have the store hunt down the Roomba thing through a store-to-store inventory search.

    Otherwise, I wish I had the $350 lying around to buy them from you... but Christmas drained the "fun fund."

    i was at bestbuy picking up my new camera, and they had this sign 'we have in stock PS3 60gig systems'

    Cause she got different cards from my family, her family etc. Her bday is mid December too,so she got some then also. It's like 5 or so different cards .

    Sell your Wii for cash (you shoudl get around $300-$350), use that money to buy a Roomba. Then use your wife's card to purchase a Wii from Best Buy plus an extra controller (should be $335 with the nunchuck attachment)

    Can't you pick up something from BB for $350 then turn around and take it back? I wouldn't think that they'd give you store credit or another gift card if you brought it back in the sealed box with a receipt. But then again, I'm just guessing...

    I'm pretty sure they just give you another gift card with that amount of money on it.

    they usually only give you back in the form of payment you gave them. credit back on a credit card. cash if you wrote a check. more gift card credit if you used a gift card.

    I don't know about Best Buy, but when I worked in retail, we would give cash refunds if the customer used cash at all in the purchase. So to get cash back, you'd spend $400 ($350 gift card and $50 cash), then return the $400 item. It'd be worth a shot.
