    Considering the price of manufactured DVDs and the price of blanks, its just plain silly to rip them (and NOT get the "extras").

    That is EXACTLY why I posted this, I am curious to see how many think it is ok.

    I feel bad about watching it, but have already paid to see it 2 times.

    I will of course buy the DVD when it comes out, but there is something inately cool about seeing a movie on your TV while it is still in theaters.

    I guess somewhat, but I don't own it, I only watched it.

    I can see your points though. By this definition, is it illegal to watch a stolen movie, or to borrow a stolen game...I think it is.

    Yep...I am being a hypocrit I guess, but dang LOTR is a good movie.

    A coorporate exec would call you a hypocrite DaDa. If you read the fine print, viewing rights are only legal for the owner and a small group of people with him.

    I wouldn't lose sleep over it. ;)

    Anyways... intellectual property has gotten to a point where available technology has been able to duplicate it at a small loss and relative ease. It's only going to get worse. If I had a business Phd, I'd find another way to generate revenue, such as embracing the technology they're so desperate to hide, instead of relying on the old business paradigms. Having extras is a great incentive to make people buy the real deal. And I doubt that piracy will ever be eliminated in a Democratic country...
