On NBA Fastbreak, they were having a discussion about what player ,who is not well known, make the all-star team, and bucher picked Jim Jackson over Randolph, AK47, Melo, Bron. That is kind of crazy because there is no way in hell Jim is going make the team.

The question was who do you think deserves to be in the all star game. He picked Jim because he believes that Jim is an important part of our team and deserves it because he sets our defensive tone.

it'd be nice if jj would start setting the "hit the wide open shot" tone more often. before these last few games, i think he was gunning for some kind of record for most wide open misses in a season or something. he's definitely nice to have for D and he does the little things, i'd just like it if he started doing some of the big things like hitting wide open shots more often like he has of late (18-27 last 4 games before tonight after shooting about 35% on 3's before that). and if bucher either said jj deserved to be on the team or picked him over zach or ak, then he was talking crazy.

I recall them saying "deserves to be on it but won't be chosen."

Ok, who DOESN'T think Jackson is doing an amazing job for $3 million?

Do we really miss Posey that much at this point? Wow did CD make a good move? It seems like it.

Jackson is an All-Star for choosing to play on our bonehead team. Unfortunately as JVG's pet vet we have to read the same quotes in the Chronicle, day after frickin day: "have to be consistent," "we're not a winning team right now," "we can't continue to do that and win," etc.

Although I'm sure he's 50 times more weary of saying these things than we are of reading/hearing them.

Jim Jackson has been solid the last month by far. Not only has he been consistent on defense but he's really been stepping up his offensive game as of lately also.

Last 15 games he's been above average and definitely deserving of a starting position.

    15 38.4 .452 .778 2.5 14.1 7.2 3.2 1.1 0.5 2.1

and the last 4 games he's been on a tear

    4 39.5 .583 .556 4.3 19.5 6.8 3.3 2.3 0.5 2.5

and all of this for as little as he makes and being not even being considered one of the top 3 offensive options on the team and all within the flow of the system as well.

also of note. Last 5 games he's 21 of 34 from behind the arc at 61.8%

I don't miss posey one bit, but the statements of him being an all-star are exaggerated but lately he's been playing like one but not consistent enough all season to actually be one.

If I am not mistaken Bucher is following the Rockets a lot this year because he is writing a book with Yao Ming. Bucher has written a number of columns on the Rockets this year on ESPN.com. So it is no surprise that he picks Jackson for the team.
