I found this simple, yet addicting browser based game that uses Flash. It's super casual, and you don't have to put a ton of time into it. Karate RPG You start the game out with four or five (can't remember) training points. You allocate those to one of six fighting moves: High, Medium or Low punches or kicks (I said it was simple). The more you train a move, the more powerful it is. The base attack for each move is 25pts, but if you train it, it gets 2 extra pts per training point. For example- mid punch + 2 trains=29 pts of damage. Then you go into the fighting section and either accept a public challenge or create your own that someone can accept. You pre-select your moves, including high, medium or low blocks, up to 10 moves total, so you have to be smart about where you place them. You can scout out current players to see their techniques so you can battle accordingly. For example, if Player X likes to start out with high kicks, you'll know to start out your moves with high blocks. You only have 100pts of energy, or 'chi' that you can use, so that limits the number of attacks you can make. So if Player X expends all of his energy on attacking first, which you block, he's open to your attacks. (blocks only take 1pt of energy, btw). Here's an example of the battle screen (I'm on the right): There really isnt much 'rpg' to it, other than being able to level up to different belts. You get experience points by winning fights- the higher above you your opponent is, the more points you get. If you're a yellow belt and beat on a white belt, you get next to no points. But if you fight a belt higher than you and win, you get great XP. Each time you level up, you get a training point. There's an area that you can watch your old battles to learn from your mistakes. You also earn 'money' as you go along, presumably to buy weapons once you hit Black Belt (oh yeah- weapons, baby!). There's even talk of Dojos in the future where players can team up for the honor of the whole. Kobra Kai! Again, super easy, a little addictive, and a good time waster if you're trying to kill 15 minutes. Check it out, and if you sign up, post your handle and we can do battle! My handle: Xerobull Enjoy!
A couple of hints: -very important- I didn't learn this one until about 30 fights in, but you can adjust the power of your attacks by highlighting the attack power and editing it with your keyboard. The game defaults to the max attack power-25, but if you enter, say, 12, you have extra chi to attack with. -If you challenge higher-ranked fighters, you CAN win, and get better XP. Be aware that in addition to their experience with the game, their hits give more damage because they've had more training points to spend. -Pay attention to people's records. Their belt color can be misleading- if someone is 100-200 and a lv3 yellow belt, they are pretty crummy fighters, they're just persistant. -Don't let losses get you down. You gotta take your licks to learn the game. Everyone loses fights. -If you're new, keep hitting the 'fight' link and wait for other white-belts to post fights that you can accept. This game is new, and many people don't understand that fighting white belts as a higher belt is pointless, XP-wise. So wait for a fight to come up and take it. -When training, put all your eggs in one basket- train up one or two attacks to be your KO hits. -Mix up your fighting style so people can't figure you out.
sweet, I won my first fight btw Realjad is my monitor name edit, woot 2-0 I rule how do u get more training sessions? edit, dam i lost one, 7-1 btw Kam I saw u lost to gmurder, hit him with low or kid hits early and high block at the end and hes a goner
Progress up through the belts- you get a new training session per belt level. I'm not positive on how many wins/how much XP it takes to progress. The first few belt levels are easy to get- At this time, I'm 124-35-11, at Yellow lv3 (7 extra training sessions), and I've put maybe four hours into the game. Belts: White White level 1 White level 2 White level 3 Yellow Yellow Level 1 Yellow Level 2 Yellow Level 3 Orange Orange Level 1 Orange Level 2 Orange Level 3 Orange Level 4 green Green Level 1 Green Level 2 Green Level 3 Green Level 4 Green Level 5 Blue Blue Level 1 etc

Nice record, Realjad! It gets harder as you get higher up- smarter opponents. Yes, the first link I posted was my Invite link. I won't say that I deserve exclusive rights to it. I do get a bonus if anyone gets to Orange belt- not money or anything, just a couple extra training slots. Karate RPG!. I'm glad you like the game- it's really fun. My main motivation in posting about it was to bring in more players; the more the merrier.
Yeah, I'am addicted now, I'am yellow belt rank 3 and my record is 100-19-10 I'll be orange belt soon and I used the link you posted so grats you should be getting a few training sessions!! Eh, I'm only 2-1 vs you! Seriously, you're rocking the charts, my man. Impressive..you'll pass me by tomorrow at this rate.
going to try this out. I used to hate web based/turn based games because i usually forgot about them after a week, but now i'm involved with several of them so i can almost take a hour to play them all each day
The best thing about it is that you can play at your own pace, unlike so many other online games. Here's the link again...see you on the battlefield!
haha, im not ganna say anything.. last time I said something after a couple wins the rockets went on to lose to the Mavs the last thing I want is for you to run 4 off on me tomorrow! btw Xero, tell me if you got your bonus I just got orange belt, what all do you get?? 140-29
