I am thinking about giving my wife a bonsai tree for her birthday. Any suggestions about the best places to go in Houston? Thanks.

I was interested in some too. I saw a guy selling them in a shopping center parking lot in the Woodlands once.

Any idea how hard they are to care for?

I've seen them in just about every mall. Greenspoint I think was the last one I saw them in.
Also, if you're driving out to S.A. at the Kactus Koral half way between here and there, they sell many bonsai.
Mine died, I think cuz I had it next to the window with my cacti.:(

os - they are a little tricky to care for. I gave her one about 10 years ago, and she killed it, so this would be a second try. On the other hand, as rH suggests, maybe she would prefer a bonsai kitten. A *kitty* that you can form into any shape has intriguing possibilities. Or perhaps I am thinking of my birthday .... ;)

I always heard if you gave your significant other a Bonsai tree and then the tree died, then that means the relationship is doomed or is over, i.e. the tree symbolizes the relationship.

Maybe you should get her a Chia pet instead ;).
