Saw it yesterday, and it did look pretty horrible. Of course, I never watched (or can't remember watching) Basic Instinct 1, so maybe it was about the same quality. From the trailer, it just looked like some sort of high-budget softcore p*rn movie you see on Cinemax or something.
Basic Instinct wasn't that great of a movie, really. The big ruckus about it was that there was one scene where Sharon Stone un-crossed her legs and then re-crossed them, and there was a full-on beaver shot. It was unheard of for a big-name actress to do that. (Still is, really). Also, it helped that Stone had her hair long and beautiful back then, and she was really looking good.
I never saw the first one, but this looks like a pron but with better special effects, and perhaps acting.
if the trailer is equivalant to the movie, than, there is nudity every 5 mins of the movie. The first one was "ok", in which I thought Jeanne Tripplehorn was ALOT hotter than Sharon Stone
That was my impression too. They also found an actress who looks a lot like Sharon Stone but alas I didn't see a Jeanne Triplehorn look alike.
That is Sharon Stone? Considering she's at least in her mid-40's she's kept herself in great shape, they have a good makeup artists, a good body double or all of the above. At least I'm glad they didn't cast Michael Douglas. The last thing I would need to see is his wrinkly butt.
I read somewhere the first cut they turned in was NC-17, so they cut it down to make it an R. Though I'm sure the NC-17 version will be playing in Europe. We'll have to wait for the DVD.
jesus, i can't belive thats a trailer/promo. It seems rather low budget. I'm wondering if someone made that up themselves with the actualy dailies. There is no way in hell thats going to fly in america.
